There is one opening for a Senior Fellow position with the Office of Community Partnerships in the County's Community Engagement Cluster.


The Senior Fellow position will work with the director of the Office of Community Partnerships to support the County's Sister Cities program.  At the initiative of the County Executive, the County is a partner with Montgomery Sister Cities, Inc. This Senior Fellow works to uphold the County's responsibilities in its partnership with Montgomery Sister Cities.

This is a temporary part-time position, with no benefits.  The applicant selected for the position will work 600 hours, or approximately 11.5 hours per week, during the next calendar year.  Senior Fellow positions are paid at an hourly rate of $24.81.

Preference for interviews will be given to candidates with experience in a leadership role and demonstrated success in organizing volunteers and building partnerships.

Senior Fellow positions vary greatly depending upon work requirements in the assigned departments or agencies. Positions will be filled depending on the department's need to implement the County's priorities. Senior Fellow candidates will be responsible for work with a County Department or Agency in one or more fields which may include, but are not limited to: personnel, community, budget, administration, health services, planning work, public works, and economic development.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Considerable (3 years) professional experience in your area of expertise.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Preferred Criteria

There are no preferred criteria for this advertisement. 


All applicants will be reviewed by OHR for minimum qualifications.  Those applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be rated Qualified, placed on the Eligible List, and may be considered interview.  Preference for interviews will be given to applicants with experience in the following: leadership roles, organizing volunteers, and building partnerships.  Employees meeting minimum qualifications who are same grade or higher will be placed on Eligible List as a Transfer candidate and may be considered for interview.
