This position is open only to:
(1) Current Montgomery County Government employees;
(2) Montgomery County employees who were affected by reduction-in-force and currently have RIF priority rights in this branch of County government;
(3) Active Montgomery County local fire and rescue department volunteers with at least 50 points under the length of service award program; or
(4) Active Customized Employment Public Interns or former Customized Employment Public Interns within 24 months of completion of internship.
This recruitment will establish an eligible list to fill current and future vacancies.
The employee in this Nurse Manager position is responsible for clinical operations of 2 -3 school based health centers; and, management and supervision of approximately 20 School Community Health Nurses and School Health Room Aides who are assigned to provide a full range of school health services to the diverse student population enrolled in Montgomery County Public Schools. The Nurse Manager resolves operational problems; assures that provision of health services is in compliance with state, local and professional requirements; reviews, analyzes and reports data; collaborates with internal and external partners and agencies to identify and resolve issues; interprets policy and recommends changes; and, serves as mentor and teacher to direct reports.

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time equivalent post-licensure experience as a nurse, two (2) years of which must have been in community health nursing.
Education: Graduation from a National League for Nursing accredited college or university or an equivalent program as determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing Examiners with a Bachelor's Degree in nursing and a Master's Degree in a nursing specialty or other health or management discipline.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Licensure: Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland issued by the Maryland Board of Examiners is required at the time of appointment. If the license is temporary, a regular Maryland RN license must be obtained within ninety (90) days of appointment.

The states having this interstate compact are Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
